Wishlist Wednesday; Orange #2

1. Lucy Split Wedges Sandals - Topshop £85
2. Stone Flower Drop Earrings - Topshop  £14
3. Block Print Sleeveless Bodycon - Topshop £29
4. Lip Paint in Low Down - Topshop £8

Hurray, nothing better than wishing and wanting especially midweek, two days before payday. I brought one neon orange cami, and boom.. I want orange everything. So I've made a little wishlist of orange bits I would like to buy for where else buy Topshop!

I've always been a little afraid of bright colours as I am severely pale and am terribly scared of being washed out. Little did I know that orange made me look a little bit off-white rather than transparent, so I've enlisted it as my new best friend. I especially like these pieces as I love the block and geometrical patterns, seems to suit the colour well.

What's your favourite new colour?

Allie

Make Up Bag Essentials

Clockwise; Bourjois Healthy Mix £7.99 Boots, Illamasqua Precision Ink (Abyss)*, Clarins Eye Contour Gel £25 Debenhams, Topshop Make Up Lips - Satorical £7 and Clarins Instant Smooth Protecting Touch*

Like most bloggers I am a self indulgent, self confessed beauty product hoarder, constantly trying new bits and pieces and changing my make up routine. However, products well they come and go but my favourites will always remain. So rather than going through what is currently in my make up bag (which could take near on forever to write, let alone read!) I wanted to go over my absolute essentials that I have been more than over the moon with.

First things first, I adore this make up bag. It was a lovely freebie from Clarins a while ago for buying so many products. For once a make up bag that satisfies my hoarding needs, plenty big enough and absolutely gorgeous design. Every girl needs a good make up bag, otherwise things start falling apart at the seems right from the beginning  or that's what I tell my boyfriend when I'm trying to justify buying one.

My first beauty savior is from my all time favourite brand - Clarins. They are my favourite brand because they are reliable, which is important in a make up brand to me, I mean it's hard enough parting with great amounts of money let alone parting with great amounts of money and not knowing whether they product you are buying is not good quality. Honestly, I've never been disappointed with a Clarins product and have never not finished one. Fact. Anyway back to my first product it is the Clarins Eye Contour Gel for Puffiness and Dark Circles. My dark circles have always been a big hang up, I do not like loading up concealer to cover them , it looks cakey and always wears off in my experience. I've found tackling them with this product prior to make up has really made a difference. A tiny dab of the gel under each eye and left to dry each morning has helped tremendously  even on the sleepiest of eyes. If you are really suffering with them, style a dab at night also.

Secondly, straight on to another Clarins product, surprise surprise. This one came in my free make up bag when I purchased the eye gel. This product is more targeted at older skin types that suffer with wrinkles and lines but I've found it helpful as a pore refiner. This is the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch. It feels incredibly divine, also reminds me a little of  a smoothie. I've been using it as a primer and it has really worked very well; lasting all day and keeps my skin from drying up (anyone else in an office environment can appreciate the pains of air-con). Despite my constant urge to try something new when a product runs out I will be repurchasing as a girl cannot deny a good primer!

Thirdly is my current foundation, a surprising buy for me. I have been religiously purchasing  luxury brand foundations since well, I could afford it (around three years ago, although my bank card does not agree) after being put off drug store ones. I've always found cheaper ones to be greasy and orange (no matter what shade you pick!) which is particually awful when you are pale and slightly oily skinned. After a recommendation on a beauty chat I went out and purchased Bourjois Healthy Mix, I enjoyed spending little money but I have very low expectations. Little did I know drug store brands have upped their game, this foundation is a dream to wear. Light, yet good cover, perfect match and long wearing. I am so happy with this product, true to it's name it's felt healthy for my skin.

To me if you are going to get eyeliner, get liquid and overcome the fear of messing it up. I guess this is my new beauty mantra. I've had good days and bad days at applying eyeliner, but the good days are increasingly more regular with Illamasqua Precision Ink (Colour - Abyss). I received this beauty is a goody bag from She Said Beauty. It's perfect , I've never used an eyeliner quite like it. It has such a wonderfully fine tip, easier to experiment and have fun with!

Last but not least my favourite lipstick, I won't bang on about it too much as I have previously done a review here. This lipstick is Topshop Make Up - Satorical. I am a super sucker for coral lipsticks, in fact the majority of my lipstick's are coral, and I have no shame in that! But for me Topshop lipsticks are such a bargain for the quality they provide, silky and long lasting. You will certainly not be disappointed.

What's your beauty essentials? I'm always looking for more to add to the collection!

Allie

Delete the Negative, Accentuate the Positive

Phew, a two week break and I couldn't be happier to be back tapping away on this blog. I do hope it doesn't seem too unprofessional of me to have taken a break, it just seemed my life was getting so hectic I just needed to breathe. It has been incredible to relax and just do offline blog work, no no... I don't mean I've spent the last two weeks shopping! I have taken the time to physically write ideas down, take beautiful photos and gain inspiration from the simple every day goings on. I have nearly planned a month's worth of posts, okay not quite written them all but for me this is a very big step.

Other than that I've been indulging in lazy baths, immersing myself in the kitchen making gorgeous healthy food in some attempt to get a body that resembles something worthy of a beach, all this as well as finally completing the unpacking of the house! As much as I enjoyed the free time it didn't quite fulfill my needs like blogging does, although the break was needed it only feels right to return with full power. It is really nice to step back into the buzz with fresh eyes and ideas.

There is one thing I have decided to take on board going forward with Rush and Teal, this is the importance of planning. I've never been a great planner in any aspect of my life, neither with school nor college but that doesn't mean I cannot change. I guess my passion for blogging will overcome my laziness, and I will be nicely organised.. or so I hope. So I've invested in a beautiful notebook, a calendar and a nice pen. So far, so good. From now on consistency is a key aspect of my blog.

What can you expect to see? The themes are still the same, from beauty reviews to outfit ideas I will still being continually banging on about fashion and beauty, however I am planning more lifestyle posts, to add a little depth. I'm excited for the new challenges, and hope you are too.

As always it's good to be back, thank you for reading my rambles and I will not being going anywhere again any time soon. Allie x
